What 716 Spotlight Is
716 Spotlight started on Grand Island with a simple idea: locally owned small businesses shouldn't have to spend a fortune to reach their neighbors. Our founder grew up on Grand Island, spent 40 years in the restaurant business, from pizza delivery driver to Director of Operations for a local family restaurant chain, and built the co-op postcard so local businesses could share the cost of a giant full-color mailer that lands in thousands of Western New York mailboxes every month, zone by zone, one business per category.
Along the way came the stories. Behind the businesses on the card we kept finding families three, four, even five generations deep: a 12-year-old dishwasher who grew up to buy the restaurant, a family cooking in the same kitchen for eighty years.
